MSC certificate

Since the late 20th century, the term sustainability has been incorporated into our everyday vocabulary. Our principles guide us to seek movements and companies with the same philosophy of caring for our planet Earth. In our case, caring for our seas is best described as fishing activity carried out by artisanal fleets or by fleets using smaller-scale fishing methods; equating a sustainable process with activities developed using more traditional practices.

The MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) standard is the organization responsible for regulating fishing that ensures the sustainability of marine habitats, as it reflects the most current and internationally accepted knowledge in the fields of science and fisheries management. Additionally, our standard is periodically reviewed and updated in collaboration with various scientists, representatives from the fishing industry, and conservation organizations.

In our view, this is the only way for the consumer to know if a product has met the quality and environmental standards necessary to ensure a sustainable ocean, and they can only see this through the MSC BLUE ECO LABEL.

When the fresh anchovy season arrives, Kiele makes a special effort to source the highest amount of raw material with MSC certification from fisheries, to ensure a steady supply and offer our customers the guarantee that they are supporting sustainable fishing and not contributing to the degradation of marine habitats, setting an example for the consumer.
